LGT/German tax scandal: What's really shocking about it

What is so shocking about the German/LGT tax affair is not the paramount greed which the German fisc is giving evidence of, neither is it the recklessness of the German authorities in the whole story (they do not hesitate a second to make open use of purest criminal proceedings to get to their ends). These were things which I would have expected anyway from the collectivist state which Germany has become. What goes absolutely beyond understanding, while being profoundly unsettling, is the perfect unanimity of the German public - both the media and the politicians are in perfect harmony in their hypocrisis, in pointing at the "greedy" race class cast of managers and capitalists without noticing their own inability to get the country's economy moving forward. No one is asking questions, there are no critics. No doubts are expressed. In this fantastically totalitarian mood, everyone agrees with everybody and of course all know the real culprits who must be severely punished: The managers and capitalists who refuse to give nearly half of their income to the German redistributive juggenaut are held repsonsible for the looming bankruptcy of the Nanny state. Thus the media/political complex is trying to shut down Germany's only remaining motor: the rich, the entrepreneurs, the owners of capital. The statists refuse to recognize that without the capitalists, Germany is nothing but a morbid country. They'd rather tax them a little heavier while living on in their own little mystic world of "social justice". The events of the last days show that Germany is on the verge of moral collapse.
