After the "Swiss Raid Commando"
Military topics will keep returning on this blog. Not that I would specially love the army (in fact, I just like my assault rifle), but because it remains something very interesting to me. In addition, we in our Alp republic have of course a special relationship to the military. But this would lead to far to explain. This Post is dedicated to a friend who participated to the Swiss Raid Commando. In a few words, the Swiss Raid Commando is an international high-level competition between members of different armed forces, performing in commando missions (infiltrations, exfiltrations, etc.) during a few days and nights in the western part of Switzerland. It's like "Infantry for advancers". Of course, the participants must be in a very strong mental and physical condition and must have a excellent ability of resistance (for instance, this year's weather was just awful). One of the G.O.'s (Gentil Organisateur) is Ludovic Monnerat - a swiss Lieutenant-Colonel, who is well-known to the frenchspeaking blog-community. My friend has of course accomplished the Swiss Raid Commando successfully. The day after, he sent me this picture (Warning, quite graphic photography ;-) ). |
