Switzerland: "Accept Hamas"
The Socialists in the Swiss government are really keen on foreign affairs. It seems that Hamas is to be treated like any other elected government in the world, irrespective of its program (No substance-over-form-approach). First, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had made it clear that Hamas is to be considered as being a "partner". Now, Moritz Leuenberger, this year's president of the Swiss government criticized the Europeans and the US in an interview on Al-Jazeera for boycotting Hamas. On the contrary, Hamas should be "accepted" (sorry, the links are in French and German). Leuenberger, as the Swiss minister of Foreign Afairs, Micheline Calmy-Rey, is of course a socialist. This may be an explanation but not an excuse. Not only is Hamas an infamous representative of a bloodthirsty islamism who despises everything the Western world is built on, but it has also repeatedly made it clear that a civilized "peace" was not on its genocidal agenda without extinguishing Israel. To that extent, Hamas is part of the same problem as Ahmadinejad. Switzerland is now about to make itself an ally of islamist massmurderers. Hamas knows it and is thankful to its friends Switzerland, France, Norway, Italy and Russia (the usual suspects). As a Swiss citizen and taxpayer, I feel deely ashamed. (Hat tip: Jack) |
